I was spending some time wondering about how I could get more people to know about Once Upon a Rhyme and Happily Never After. I kept thinking if only the right person would read the book and tell the world, then everyone could know that a troll who only eats humans is a true humanitarian and/or debate whether dwarfs or dwarves is the proper pluralization with me.
But, who should it be?
I couldn’t come up with an immediate answer. William and Kate seemed like a good duo, Kim Jong-un would certainly make waves if he read it, Oprah Winfrey was always fantastic for books, and Mark Zuckerberg would definitely make people on Facebook notice. Bill Gates, William Buffet, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Hillary Clinton, Michio Kaku, LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Magic Johnson, Angelina Jolie, Shakira, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine all crossed my mind as well. However, as my mind turned to people like Cary Elwes, Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Will Wheaton, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Andrew Lincoln and Groot… I realized that there could only be one answer this week!
I’m looking at you – Chris Hardwick (@Nerdist)!
CONGRATULATIONS! Yes, out of a population of billions, I want Chris Hardwick, the Nerdist himself, a man who does talk shows after Doctor Who and the Walking Dead, to read Once Upon a Rhyme. After all, he knows everyone in the geek/nerd world, including my #2 choice, Wil Wheaton. He has a great sense of humor, an appreciation for all things geeky and I’m sure he’s seen The Princess Bride at least a dozen times.
So, please Chris Hardwick (#ChrisHardwick, #Nerdist, @Nerdist, I don’t know what else in the social media world to do…), I’m asking you, nay, begging you… read Once Upon a Rhyme. And for anyone out there who may know Chris, or a cousin of his, or some guy who claims to have seen someone who looked like Chris Hardwick maybe once, let them know to pass the world. Tweet Chris at @nerdist and ask him. You can find his website at www.nerdist.com. Read the cool articles on his website and comment. Let him know about Once Upon a Rhyme.
He’ll enjoy it. It’s for his own good. It’s for everyone’s good. It’s for Charming’s good.
Once Upon a Rhyme needs you Chris Hardwick.
Help me, Obi-Wan Hardwick! You’re our only hope!
Except for everyone else out there who can spread the word! @nerdist #readJackHeckel!! I believe we can do it!
I’ve done what I can. I hope this goes viral. (At least until next week, when I launch another desperate plea to some unsuspecting celebrity!)
PS If you actually due to some Christmas miracle receive this, Chris Hardwick, my little girl would love it if you could help get Matt Smith’s autograph. Bow ties are cool.
